Luxury goods conglomerate Kering and fashion publication Vogue Italia have teamed up for the “Empower Talent” initiative for the third year running.
Empower Talent 3 is a recruitment program that offers young people the chance to apply for internships at luxury companies belonging to the Kering portfolio of high-end brands. Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Brioni, Pomellato and Dodo have previously participated in the initiative and, this year, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga and Stella McCartney will join them.
Candidates will be able to apply to positions in the following areas: public relations, communications and media relations, merchandising, product development, digital, retail, marketing and legal services. The positions are to be published on the vogue.it website, and applicants will then be able to submit their CV and cover letter until the 15th November. Successful candidates will be awarded internships starting in the period of November through to January 16.
The aim of the Empower Talent program is to support and nurture young people, by helping them to gain professional experience and forge their career path in the luxury industry. A number of candidates who were recruited for internships in previous editions have since been offered permanent positions at the various high-end labels.
Franca Sozzani, director of Vogue Italia, commented on the collaboration, saying: “The arrival this year of new brands, in addition to those already endorsing us, demonstrates that Empower Talents is a project we can believe in for years to come. Young people are our future, and they need concrete support and opportunities to express their abilities and make their dreams come true”.
To celebrate the launch of the third edition of this initiative that strives to discover and support talent, Franca Sozzani is to host a cocktail party in Milan later today.
