Yesterday Swarovski announced which luxury fashion designers will be a part of the Swarovski Collective for 2016.

With a total of 15 designers, the Swarovski Collective brings together labels from New York, London and Paris. Emilia Wickstead, Peter Pilotto, David Koma, Alexander Lewis, Thomas Tait and Haizhen Wang are the six designers which show in London. The other designers taking part are Christian Wijnants, Creatures of the Wind, Esteban Cortázar, Iris van Herpen, Rosie Assoulin, Tanya Taylor, Tim Coppens, Tome and Vivienne Hu.

In an article published by WWD, Nadja Swarovski, who is a member of Swarovski’s Executive Board, commented: "It is a pleasure to build on the success of the Swarovski Collective with this new lineup of creatives, and our ongoing commitment to emerging talent with the Swarovski Collective Prize."

The Collective was founded in 1999 when Nadja Swarovski joined forces with Isabella Blow and Alexander McQueen. By supporting designers the initiative, which is now in its 16th year, aims to champion creativity and talent as well as promoting the use of crystals in luxury fashion. The designers selected to be a part of the collective will receive financial support as well as a supply of crystals to use in their upcoming collection.

To mark the Collective’s 15th anniversary last year, Swarovski also launched the Swarovski Collective Prize for Innovation, which sees one of the Collective designers receive a €25,000 award. Peter Pilotto, who was also one of the Collective’s designer last year along with Emilia Wickstead, was declared the recipient of the first ever Prize for Innovation. We’ll have to wait until May next year to find out who 2016’s winner is…in the meantime we can expect to see plenty of sparkle on the catwalk.
