Vivienne Westwood has taken a short break from fashion and turned her hand to interior design for her latest project. The British designer teamed up with the London West Hollywood hotel to design their brand new penthouse suite.
The luxury hotel has been undergoing a major renovation project of $25 million and called upon Westwood to design the suite, which will be the largest in Los Angeles once completed.
The suite features upholstery, rugs, tiles and tapestries designed by the designer. Andreas Kronthaler, Westwood’s Design Partner & Creative Director commented: "We were initially approached by The London West Hollywood to add inspiration to the penthouse with our prints and graphics. We have specially curated rugs, wall-hangings and soft furnishings to bring a subtle element of our brand to the luxury apartment.”
The suite is composed of a Grand Salon, flanked by two Atriums, a media room, a kitchen and dining room. The Master Bedroom includes a dressing room and bathroom as the suite also features a second bedroom. The interior decoration throughout these rooms references Westwood’s fashion collections, by using her iconic signature motifs such as tartan, orbs and the union jack.
The designer has also injected her style into the penthouse rooftop: spread across 5,000 square feet, its sofas, chairs and towels all feature Westwood’s squiggle print.
The luxury suite is set to be completed on 18th May and will cost $25, 000 a night. To complete the experience, guests staying at the ‘Penthouse Inspired by Vivienne Westwood’ will also be treated to one-hour personal shopping service, gift-bags and Vivienne Westwood amenities. It's certainly going to be a good way to immerse yourself in luxury fashion and design.
