Created in 1994, Studio Voltaire is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the help of fashion label Chloé. It’s a match made in heaven, some might say. Studio Voltaire is a charity which aims to support up-and-coming talent, providing artists with the means to create art pieces through commissions; Chloé, meanwhile, has a long history of working with artists.
Chloé has become the official partner of House of Voltaire, a biannual pop-up shop hosted by Studio Voltaire. Joe Scotland, director of the charity, said: “This year Studio Voltaire celebrates 20 years of supporting artists, and we are very excited to have Chloé as a partner on this extra special presentation of House of Voltaire.” Chloé’s involvement will inevitably help put the spotlight on the House of Voltaire initiative.
Claire Waight Keller, Chloé’s Creative Director, recruited three artists, to create Chloé pieces specifically for the pop-up. You’ll be able to get your hands on a scarf by Jenny Saville, a broderie anglaise short and top set by Karen Kilimnik and a bag designed by Claire Waight Keller herself. Meanwhile, the third artist, Cao Fei, has delved into Chloé’s archives and given the luxury dresses a poetic touch. This Chloé limited edition collection will feature alongside the other items on sale at the pop-up, and will additionally be available online at net-a-porter.com
The pop-up will run from 12th November to 20th December 2014 at 39-40 Albermarle Street, London. Prices range from £1 to £30, 000 so if you’re short of ideas for Christmas presents, you’ll be guaranteed to find gifts which really stand out…what’s more, it’s all in the name of a good cause.
