There’s been a lot of talk and speculation leading up to Apple’s new releases, which were introduced by CEO Tim Cook yesterday.

Apple’s new products include the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5inch iPhone 6 Plus. Larger and thinner, both models come in silver, gold and space gray with a new A8 chip which is more energy efficient and has better graphics. Both models feature an eight megapixel iSight camera for better quality images and videos.
In time with the launch of the new iPhone, Apple has given iOS an upgrade. With a whole new list of functions, iOS 8 links your iPhone to your Mac or iPad, allowing you to make and receive calls, send text messages and even connect to WiFi from those devices.

Apple have also ventured into the smartwatch market. The Apple Watch uses a retina display, which senses touch and force. It not only detects the GPS and WiFi from the user’s iPhone, but can also measure the wearer’s pulse rate. With a strong focus on health, the watch allows the wearer to track their daily activity and includes a Workout app, a Fitness app as well as a Health app. The Apple Watch comes in six different straps, ranging from a classic leather buckle, a sport band to a stainless steel version, all of which can be easily swapped.

Apple is simultaneously launching a new payment system. Apple Pay is a contactless payment technology, designed to be both fast and secure. It combines the Passbook with Touch ID technology: the former stores your credit and debit card details on your phone, whilst the latter is a system that only lets you pay using a fingerprint scan for safety.

Now, only time will tell how Apple’s new products will fare on the market.
