Specialized, the US cycling brand founded in 1974, have joined forces with McLaren to produce the S-Works Tarmac bike. A limited edition, only 250 models will be produced worldwide, with 10 available in the UK. Costing £16, 000, the high-tech S-Works Tarmac is made of carbon-fibre and has been developed using software used for some of McLaren’s iconic designs. In addition it is painted in the McLaren Special Operations Centre, where the McLaren P1 supercar is given its finishing. Those who invest in the new model will have to attend a Body Geometry session, in order to be fitted with a S-Works Prevail helmet and S-Works McLaren shoes which come with the bike.
