‚ÄčIt’s not everyday that a brand turns 130, so to celebrate this milestone anniversary the luxury Italian brand Bvlgari has decided to celebrate with a series of one-of-a-kind events.

The 130th anniversary was marked by the launch the 130 Years of Masterpieces exhibition in the US, at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, presenting 150 pieces, as well as sketches and other elements from the archives.

But Bvlgari wasn’t content with just looking back at it’s history…The brand has also released some limited edition pieces to celebrate the milestone. The new Icona 10 handbag pays homage to the brand's flagship store and comes in three colourways for a lively tribute. The iconic Serpenti necklace has been revisited, resulting in the creation of three pendants each with either a rubellite, mandarin garnet or emerald stone as centerpiece. And last but not least, there’s Opera Prima – a luxury fragrance in an elegant bottle of citrine, diamonds and gold.

Bvlgari is also celebrating by reconnecting with the buildings that have had significance in the company’s history. Bvlgari has called upon the architect Peter Marino to refurbish its flagship retail space, keeping the essence of the brand, whilst bringing in modern elements. Finally Bvlgari has emphasized its Italian heritage by funding the renovation of the Spanish steps in Rome, the landmark that Bvlgari’s founder, Sotirio Bulgari, used to walk past every day.

If there’s one thing we can’t doubt, Bvlgari certainly knows how to celebrate an anniversary with great sophistication and style.
